The Turning Away

The Turning Away

Silver Falls state park, a little drive to get there, after parking the car, there is a little walk to get to the heart of the falls; but very much worth the efforts of the drive and the walk. There’s something like twenty plus waterfalls inside the park, such a peaceful beautiful place to visit; very much akin to serenity.
That’s the bit about life though, if it’s old fashioned, unpopular, or even in the slightest of what’s unpleasant or time consuming; people will turn their back and walk away from the good or beautiful in favour of the easily obtainable, good or bad.
“Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans.” -Peter Ferdinand Drucker, 1905-2005
Life is meant for the pleasure of commitment, people more and more are committed to little, without commitment to life, for some people, there is no pleasure in life; only the falsehoods of meaningless pleasure. As is the lives of the addict of alcohol and drugs, when and if they understand the meaning behind being committed to life; they abandon their addictions and run the other way, as far away as possible. But people can and are addicted to other things, other meaningless things than alcohol and drugs; but some just as deadly and life shortening.
The understanding of life, that’s something that people these days turn their backs on; all the variables are just too depressing for some. It’s as if talking about life takes a person to a room full of boredom, depression, truth; it’s too much like church, or religious mumbo jumbo. I get that, I really do, that’s why I would rather live in Faith above man’s religious views or takes on life.
“In a small house God has His corner; in a big house, He has to stand in the hall.” -Swedish proverb
In thought of society as a big house, God isn’t even in the house, he’s left out on the curb counting cobble stones, what kind of mentality would think that is just; especially when chaotic manners are acceptable. But people turn away, the effort to step away from status quo’s addictive manners of the citizenry has become too addictive; oh, all that is hereditary in society. It’s the blood of life, passed on through at least a couple or more generations, all that we see today that is; and strangely, not all involved family. Nonetheless hereditary and lacking independence.
But like the man said: “By night, even an atheist believes in God.” But so does most everyone in society, they turn away by day, and by night; if the day was rough, they talk to God, oh make tomorrow better. Making a deal to the heavens that they will forget by morning, the alarm clock sounds and its business as usual.
It’s all, everything in life that is, it is all contingent to what we take the time to understand in life, and how we learn life, from our own experiences; or from some follower of the new age status quo.
“I have found you an argument; I am not obliged to find you an understanding.” -Dr. Samuel Johnson, 1709-1784
The conflict of the masses is amplified by their lack of understanding, nothing more exemplifies the thought than this election year ahead, patriotism holds no light today, what sits in the balance is truly worth understanding; but little efforts are made in true understanding. The cheers and applause of one political dogma over another, but no one wants to look deeper, is it fear, is it the blindness of bliss; or is it both.
The minority is the truth seeker, not the followers in life’s parade, but the truth seeker questions the citizens bliss, it’s life and origins, the backgrounds of what they see in the foreground; never taking what they see for its face value. That’s the minority, that’s also why we have the country we have today, the wayward majority is winning in deceiving ways because majority of society won’t put out the effort; to understand, they’re simplisticly too busy.
“Mediocre minds usually dismiss anything which reaches beyond their own understanding.” -François VI, Duc de La Rochefoucauld, 1613-1680
Be it God, politics, or life, everything seen that should be knowingly questioned but never asked of, lends more to accepted stupidity than ignorance, or accepted laziness than willing effort. All of which, God, politics, and life should be understood; because without the understanding???
